Who it suits
The hotel describes it as perfect for a small family or group getaway, and that matches the bed count. Four adult hikers might share it, but the hotel does not publish a maximum occupancy, so ask before planning on that. For a couple it is more bed than you need; the King Room is the obvious alternative.
The soaker tub is the underrated part. After the 421 metres of Prairie View, or a day of snowshoeing, a bath in the room beats queueing for the hot tub. The fridge holds tomorrow's sandwiches; the microwave covers a late dinner, since The Ridge closes at 9 pm.
What I would pack for this room
- Food that needs a fridge, not a stove. Cooking appliances are not allowed in rooms, kettles and rice cookers included, and the house rules set a minimum $250 fee.
- A drying plan for wet gear. The hotel lists an iron, not a drying rack; a light clothes line takes no space.
- Swimwear for the pool and slide, open 9 am to 11 pm.
- ID for check-in, and a card or cash for a damage deposit of up to $500.
Mountain or Valley?
Both versions share the same description apart from the view. The Valley View page promises sunrise; the Mountain View page promises mountains. If two of you are early risers heading for a dawn start, ask for Valley View in the notes. If not, take whichever the desk finds at the better rate.
