Funding and bookings: who pays, and for what
This guide earns money one way: when a room request made here becomes a confirmed stay, the hotel or the booking partner that completes the reservation pays us a commission. You never pay us anything.
That is the whole model. It is written here so that nobody, reader or robot, has to guess why an independent guide to one hotel exists.
What is connected today, and what is not
- Room requests through our desk
- Yes. This is the only source of income.
- Commission
- Paid by the hotel or a booking partner on a confirmed stay from a request made here
- Advertising
- None. No ad network is connected and no space is sold.
- Affiliate networks
- None connected. No tracked links anywhere on the site.
- Links to the hotel
- Plain links to stoneynakodaresort.com with no tracking parameters
- Sponsorship
- None. The resort does not pay for coverage and has not seen this guide.
- Payments from readers
- Never. We do not take cards or deposits.
Why the commission does not bend the guide
A commission rewards bookings, so the temptation is to oversell. Two rules keep that in check. First, every fact comes from a named source and nothing is invented to make the place sound better; the verdict lists the weak points as plainly as the strong ones. Second, if the hotel's own direct rate is the better deal, the desk tells you to book direct. The hotel's own page argues for direct booking; read it on its why-direct-booking page and make up your own mind.
How a request becomes a booking
- You send a request. Dates, people, room type, notes.
- The desk checks. With the hotel and, where useful, with a booking partner.
- You get options by email. Rates and conditions as quoted to us, with their source.
- You choose. Or you do not. No follow-up spam.
- The hotel or partner books and confirms. Their cancellation terms apply, not ours.
If this changes
If an advertising network or an affiliate programme is ever connected, this page will say which one and from when, and every such link will be marked. Until then, the statement above is complete.
