Getting here: one junction, five useful starting points
The resort is a driving destination. I found no scheduled bus that stops at it, so this page is about roads: where you start, how far it is, and the map link that takes you to the right door.
The hotel is at 888 Nakoda Way, Mînî Thnî, beside the junction of the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) and Highway 40. Travel Alberta describes it exactly that way. The resort's own line is 45 minutes west of Calgary. Each route below opens Google Maps with the resort as the destination, so the pin lands on the right building, not on the nearby gas bar.
Routes by car
| Starting point | Distance and time | Map |
|---|---|---|
| Calgary International Airport (YYC) | 82.9 km · ~74 min | Route from YYC |
| Calgary City Hall, downtown | 75.0 km · ~62 min | Route from downtown Calgary |
| Cochrane | 48.9 km · ~45 min | Route from Cochrane |
| Canmore | 33.0 km · ~27 min | Route from Canmore |
| Banff | 56.2 km · ~47 min | Route from Banff |
| Kananaskis Village | 26.7 km · ~27 min | Route from Kananaskis Village |
| Lake Louise | 109.7 km · ~89 min | Route from Lake Louise |
“calc” = my own OSRM router check from the resort’s map pin, 31 October 2026: no traffic, stops or snow.
From the airport
YYC's ground transport page lists taxis, ride-share pick-up zones, hotel shuttles for airport hotels and bus tour operators. None of those is a scheduled service to this resort, and at 83 km a taxi or ride-share is a long, expensive ride; I have not priced it. Most visitors will rent a car at the airport. The airport's options are on yyc.com.
From the airport, follow the map route onto Highway 1 west. The resort is at the Highway 40 junction, the turn for Kananaskis Country; the map links on this page put the pin on the resort rather than on the gas bar next to it.
Public transit
I looked for a scheduled bus stopping at the resort on the pages I could read on 31 October 2026 and did not find one. Alpine Helicopters' visitor page points to On-It for buses from Calgary to Canmore and to Roam Transit route 3 between Banff and Canmore, but I could not confirm any stop at the junction, so I do not recommend relying on them. If a guided tour or shuttle is part of your plan, ask the operator where it picks up. Canadian Rockies Rafting, for example, runs an optional shuttle from its Canmore office to its River Base at the resort, per Travel Alberta.

Leaving towards the mountains
From the junction, Highway 40 runs south past Barrier Lake to Kananaskis Village and on to Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. Highway 1 runs west to Canmore and Banff. Both are covered on a day on Highway 40 and Canmore and Banff. Remember that the stretch of Highway 40 south of Peter Lougheed closes every year from 1 December to 14 June.
