The layout, as published
The odd detail is where the tub is: in the living room, not the bathroom. The bedroom is separate, with its own TV, and the living room has the sofa bed, the larger TV and the tub. That makes it a suite for two people who want space, or for a couple with someone on the sofa bed who does not mind sharing the room with a tub.
When I would book it
After a big day. Galatea Creek to Lillian Lake is 6.0 km and 457 m of gain one-way, with 1.5 km and 154 m more to Upper Galatea Lake. Yamnuska's east ridge is 3.6 km and 520 m to Raven's End. Ha Ling is 810 m to the summit. Any of those earns a long soak. The trail figures come from Alberta Parks; the list is on trails near the hotel.
For a celebration, the hotel's direct-booking page says requests such as particular room types, early check-in or a welcome package can be arranged when you book directly. That is the hotel's claim; our desk will pass any such request through and report what the hotel says.
What to ask the desk
- Whether a Mountain View or Valley View suite is free on your dates.
- Whether early check-in is possible before the standard 4:00 pm; the events package says early arrivals depend on availability and may carry a fee.
- Whether the suite is in an area affected by the renovations the resort mentions on its homepage.
